A colleague of mine just ran into the following error:
At the time he was copying some objects from one SSIS package to another, as he had been doing most of the day. However, all of a sudden this error popped up to ruin his day. He didn't actually try to save or do anything, but even just clicking back to the original package would pop up this error.
There was no immediate indication of what happened, but a bit of digging revealed that for some reason a copy of an existing Connect Manager was added to the Project's Connections Managers.
We solved it by deleting the redundant Connection Manager.
