time to upgrade

    Dear All Sql Gurus,


    I am new to ms sql server and need your help .
    I have ms sql server 2008 enterprise edition sp3 on windows 2008 server.
    My instance total size including all databases is 15 GB ,need to upgrade to sql server 2012 enterprise edition.
    My question is ,how much time it takes to upgrade to ms sql 2012 enterprise edition?

    your help will be appreciated.

    Hi Roman. Without knowing hardware specs, it's literally impossible for anyone to estimate how long an upgrade would take. Even with specs, it's a tough estimate. I'd recommend you to attempt a run using a test server. Simply backup all your databases, and restore them on the test server running SQL 2012. That ought to give you some basic ideas.
